103- Christian Staylor (Great Bridge) tech fall Eric Hawes (Warren County) 20-2; 5:50.
Staylor dominated from the opening whistle, nearly pinning Hawes late in the third.

112- Michael Martin (Great Bridge) dec. Tyde Prater (Grundy) 5-1.
Fought to a scoreless tie at the end of the first period. In a battle of freshman, Martin used two takedowns and an escape to take the lead and the win.

119- Stacy Menefee (Franklin County) dec. Chance Craft (James River) 11-9.
Most exciting match of the evening so far. Menefee blistered to a big lead on takedowns in the first and early second, but Craft, a two-time Group A state Champion, fought back and got within 10-9.

125- Jon Cresswell (Great Bridge) maj. dec. Jeb Wright (Salem) 13-5.
Cresswell staged what appeared to be a takedown tournament, scoring six of them at will.

130- Jon Sioredas (Great Bridge) dec. Adrian Austin (Matoaca) 7-3.
Sioredas' throw to score back points in the third broke open a 2-2 tie. Sioredas held on in the scoreless third.

135- Ernesto Vera (Lake Taylor) dec. Patrick Shuler (Brookville) 5-2.
Shuler hung in with the more experienced Vera. Vera took a 4-2 lead into the second, scored an escape, despite no scoring, there was some great action.

140- Justin Gabbard (Tallwood) dec. Ronnie Crist (Christiansburg) 11-9.
Another barn-burner, both traded takedowns back and forth with Gabbard. Gabbard's style was confirmed: They're always close.

145- Ben Summerlin (Brookville) pin P.J. Neumann (Great Bridge) 1:26.
Summerlin's headlock has felled many opponents this year, Neumann was no exception.

152- J.C. Cuffee (Great Bridge) dec. Sean Pennington (Matoaca) 5-0.
Cuffee used two takedowns and an escape to squeeze by the Matoaca sophomore.

160- Matt Carr (Rustburg) dec. Joey Patterson (Great Bridge) 6-5.
A match that was close throughout, the two traded takedowns late in the third, with Carr taking the lead with :16 left

171- Chris Davis (Hickory) dec. Ben Jones (William Byrd) 18-11.
Jones took Davis right to his back for a 5-0 lead. Davis fought out and then took advantage of the winded Jones for with win, clinching the victory for the AAA Squad.

189- Chip Campbell (Waynesboro) dec. Scott Mania (Salem) 13-9.
Campbell led 9-4 into the second period, despite the close spread, wasn't threatened late in the match.

215- Nick Prieto (Turner Ashby) dec. Daryl Stackhouse (Booker T. Washington) 5-0.
Prieto used a takedown early and turned Stackhouse for backpoints in a battle of state finalists.

HWT- E.G. McDaniel (Christiansburg) dec. Derek Kraweic (Great Bridge) 4-2, OT.
Typical heavyweight battle until the overtime, where the flurry of activity produced a McDaniel takedown for the final margin.
